Alcan Packaging Completes VAW Flexible Packaging Acquisition

As a member of Alcan Packaging, we are delighted to advise you that the integration between Alcan Packaging and VAW Flexible Packaging has now been completed and mark the 1st of May as our Day One combination, which is ahead of schedule. The addition of VAW Flexible Packaging enhances Alcan’s global position in packaging and provides an excellent platform for future growth. The combined group consists of total 90 plants, 19.000 employees and sales turnover of 3.5 billion Euro. As a result of our wider capabilities Alcan Packaging’s world class operations will be better able to serve our customers. In addition this significant acquisition clearly demonstrates Alcan’s commitment to packaging. The acquisition expands Alcan’s footprint technologically and regionally with the addition of operations in Europe and Asia, which also offers increased security of supply. The 2nd Schiavi Machine.

The second new Printing machine has already in commercial run, thus we provide two new Schiavi machines as our commitment to support our customers. With this second additional machine, we can boost our capacity in printing line and shortened delivery time.

Training Centre- Surabaya (June’03)

The seminar and technical workshop is more and more give a valuable and attractive topics, like was held on 8th of May 2003 Seminar (“Memanfaatkan Kemasan Fleksibel untuk Meningkatkan Kualitas Produk”) which was attended by 11 enterprises, and on the next day, 9th of May 2003 Technical Workshop (“Aplikasi Kemasan Flexible dan Mesin Pengisi”) which was attended by 5 enterprises. Packaging Training Centre- Surabaya (February’03)

The 2nd Seminar held on 16 and 17 January 2003. In this seminar, participants were introduced to the flexible packaging know how and practical knowledge of related filling machines. There was split between Introduction Seminar on first day and Technical workshop on next day. The most interesting thing is all participants were very enthusiastic to know how flexible packaging working is and how to calculate packaging cost in order to make an added value to the products. One of the special topics was “Indonesia Products Registration Regulation”, which will help the participant knowing the procedure for product launching. Next Seminar and Technical Workshop will be conducted on 12-13 March 2003 The training center also offering a rent out facility to small-medium industries that needs vertical filling machines.
